What is your music background?

I've taken piano lessons since around age 10. I always used to dabble around without sheet music outside my lessons, sometimes figuring out the notes and basic chords of popular tunes, and sometimes making stuff up. Just before high school I came across a software package deal, my first sequencer: Midisoft Recording Session 4, complete with a MIDI/joyport cable. The rest is history; I'm currently majoring in music technology at a university in Columbus, Ohio. I am, however, still trying to find my niche both in the electronic music community, and the world of composition as a whole, as I compose in both electronic and some acoustic styles. But hey, I hate genre labels anyways.

Where and when have you heard of Bhajis Loops?

I had actually come across the miniMusic series of products first. Disappointed that I couldn't seem to find the required hardware to run the software effectively, I kept searching the Palm software sites and came across Microbe. I was almost set on buying it until I found Bhajis Loops through the Chocopoolp website. As I browsed the list of features, I realized I had come across a dream come true! What composer doesn't want to be able to compose anywhere? And on a Palm no less! There was no question about it; I had to buy it.

What is your use of Bhajis Loops?

Up to recently, I have primarily used it as a musical notebook, and for experimenting with different meters and harmonic/rhythmic elements. I have recently completed my first Bhajis-made tune (Automaton Jig), with more on the way. Admittedly, I have been a bit slow in my Bhajis Loops composition. The trouble is, every time I go to work in Bhajis', a new version is released! Very much being the experimenting type, I must explore all the new features! ;) In addition to using Bhajis Loops as a notebook or a mobile studio for creating complete works, Bhajis is ready for me to use as a special synth/sampler for building musical parts for importing into larger works on my computer on-the-go, completely processed with EQing, reverb, and more.

What is your favourite feature?

At the time that I was looking at the software for purchase, what really caught my eye was the ability to export to a MIDI file. The options with this feature alone are nearly endless. Now that I've been working with Bhajis for over half a year, it's very difficult to pinpoint one feature, and I'd have to say my favorite feature is the way the developer listens to and interacts with the community, implementing features requested by users all over the world. This results in the frequent updates that contain many user-requested features, bug-fixes/improved compatibility, and completely new features that haven't even been thought of by the community.

Thanks for this interview!
